As part of it’s mixed land and housing development programme, LinkBuild is currently in the process of developing a site located in Barangay Bago, Davao City – the largest city within the southeastern region of Mindanao.
This project was conceived through the demand of housing project for urban poor communities in Davao City who has no security of tenure. Target clients will be coming from three member communities of Homeless People's Fedration Philippines, Inc. in Davao namely: (1) Ma-a Community, (2) Matina Arroyo Community (3) Quimpo Boulevard Community, and families endorsed by the local government unit of Davao City who are either affected of the on-going city infrastructure projects or living in danger areas.
The 2.8 hectare residential plot in Brgy. Bago Gallera, Davao City was successfully acquired by LinkBuild, Inc.
The objective of the workshop, which was held on the site itself, was to hear and learn from each participant about their vision for the site as their future community. At the same time, it was an opportunity for participants to connect with the Bago Gallera site while collaborating and getting to know each other.
The preferences, suggestions and observations gathered through this participatory process were used by LB technical staff to create the site development scheme. It was presented to the community a week after the workshop, for validation and approval. With some clarifications and questions not only on the technical aspect but also financial concerns, the participants approved the proposed plan.
