Dec. 23, 2016 | The last seven qualified clients of the USWAG Core Housing Project received the keys to their new houses in a turnover ceremony facilitated by LinkBuild and the Homeless Peoples Federation Philippines Inc. (HPFPI). The event was held at the HPFPI Site Office in USWAG Subdivision, Brgy. San Isidro Jaro, Iloilo City.
The USWAG Core Housing Project is a joint project of LinkBuild, HPFPI, TAMPEI, CoRe-ACs and the City Government of Iloilo. It consists of 45 one-storey rowhousing units on a 16-hectare government relocation site now known as USWAG Subdivision.
Prior to the turnover ceremony proper, Engr. Joefry Camarista, LinkBuild Project Engineer, gave an orientation on the post-turnover housing policies that clients should adhere to. This was followed by a thorough explanation of the Contract to Sell by Vhal Libutaque, LinkBuild Project Development Officer. Thereafter, Gaspar Sabarillo, Loan Officer of CoReACS, proceeded with explaining the Loan Contract Agreement.
Following the various contract orientations, the clients, together with Engr. Camarista and Arch. Libutaque, conducted a joint inspection of the units, after which they signed the house acceptance form.
The ceremony commenced in the afternoon with HPFPI Regional Coordinator for Western Visayas, Mrs. Sonia Cadornigara, giving the opening remarks and introduction. A number of distinguished guests were present and likewise gave their messages. The keys were handed over by the Chairman of the Iloilo City Urban Poor Affairs Office (ICUPAO), Mr. Jeck Cunlo, by ICUPAO Executive Director Wilfredo Jurilla and by the Uswag Subdivision Site Coordinator, Mr. Alemar Sylvederio. They gave congratulatory messages to the clients and to all the people involved in making the project successful. Mr. Cunlo also introduced some of the City’s programs for the informal settlers.
